INTERmedic runs against cancer in the ONCOTRAIL race
In addition to developing medical platforms to combat cancer, INTERmedic has also an active commitment to fight against this disease and for the second year in a row, it will sponsor a team of 8 runners in the Oncotrail race. This solidarity competition, organized by the Oncolliga Girona Foundation, together with the Palafrugell Excursionist Group and the Palafrugell Athletic Club, will be held on 7 – 8 October 2017 in Palafrugell (Girona, Spain). The objective of the race is to raise funds for the improvement of the quality of life of cancer patients.
INTERmedic will sponsor the Club Vela Calella team, whose challenge will be to cover a distance of 100km with 3,753m of positive difference in less than 13 hours. Eduard Vila, Export Manager of INTERmedic, stresses the importance of social and business involvement in this type of solidarity initiatives: “We want to congratulate not only our team’s runners, physiotherapists and logistical support who are part of it since the previous edition, but also the 200 remaining teams, totaling 2,000 people, who with their effort and capacity for sacrifice contribute to this good cause. “
Oncotrail is a team race, with a circular route of 100 km along the North coast of Catalonia. Each team must collaborate with a minimum donation of 1,000 euros to travel this route in a maximum of 30 hours. In the 2017 edition, Oncotrail has already raised more than 111,000 euros in donations to support cancer patients through services such as psychological and home care, hospital support, rehabilitation or legal advice.
