Pseudogynecomastia is hypertrophy of the male breasts due to fat accumulation. This abnormal development may occur in both breasts or it may be asymmetrical.

The laser heat causes the adipocyte to tear. The fat cells absorb the energy, increasing their volume until they break, without damaging other tissues in the process.
