Vascular lesions

INTERmedic‘s laser ABCs for vascular applications: from angioma to venous lake removal

INTRODUCTION

Spider veins, telangiectasias, venous angiomas. . . The most common benign vascular disorders have an easy and effective solution thanks to our laser platforms Multidiode™ Surgical Series 4G, Dermalase™ and Ultrafine™.

INTERmedic’s laser treatments are safe, effective and achieve excellent results in cases of venous angioma, papular stellar angioma, small lip angioma and ruby or flat angiomas. INTERmedic‘s systems allow a variety of vascular applications such as treating reddened skin areas, couperosis, rosacea, venous lakes or venous red or blue spots. INTERmedic also offers specific solutions for the treatment of benign vascular lesion.

Ideal for telangiectasias and spider veins

Almost 60% of the adult population suffer from some form of telangiectasia or spider veins on their face, hands or legs. The presence of unsightly veins is also a frequent cause for the patient to seek treatment. Makeup or clothing are common ways to hide this kind of problems, but of course,  do not offer a satisfactory solution. Multidiode™ Surgical Series 4G allows to get rid of this problem for ever, eliminating marks permanently.

Effective in venous angioma

According to their origin, medical science distinguishes different forms of angiomas. Some need treatment and others are harmless, but all of them may ruin the patient’s look, especially if they are on the face. Laser procedures are safe and effective and achieve very good aesthetic results in the treatment of venous angioma, stella angioma, small lip angioma and flat angioma, ruby points or tuberous angioma.

How does laser treatment work?

Laser energy penetrates into the skin and is absorbed by the blood’s oxyhemoglobin, which acts as the target chromophore. The vessel temperature rises and makes it collapse, without epidermal injuries or purple.

Dermalase™ for vascular lesions

Dermalase™ easily corrects various types of vascular lesions such as facial telangiectasia, spider veins, hemangiomas, venous lakes, rosacea, spider veins and collaterals. The target chromophore for this wavelength is hemoglobin, which absorbs energy, causing a photothermal effect that destroys the vein walls.

PRODUCT

Multidiode™ Surgical Series 4G is a 980nm diode laser system specially designed for percutaneous treatment of telangiectasias and very small vessels difficult to treat with conventional techniques, as well as other vascular and dermatological pathologies. Its small size, advanced design and maximum stability, together with its up-to-date technology, makes Multidiode™ Surgical Series 4G the ideal laser platform for vascular and dermatological applications, as well as for skin surgery (cutting, coagulation and vaporization).

Optimal wavelength and variable spot size

Multidiode™ Surgical Series 4G obtained excellent results in vascular and dermatological procedures because of different factors: its variable spots and laser wavelength (980 nm) ensure maximum absorption by oxyhemoglobin and a reduced competition with epidermal melanin.

Working with long and short pulses (variable duration between 5 ms and 500 ms) with 0. 7 mm, 1. 3 mm and 2 mm spots facilitates the sealing of vessels without risk of outbreaks and also prevents the appearance of purple. Multidiode™ Surgical Series 4G  has flat top spots, getting a uniform and efficient energy distribution over the whole spot surface, while a converging spot (Gaussian distribution) would make most of the transferred energy to focus on the central area.

Ultrafine ™: precise and controlled thermal effect

INTERmedic CO2 laser Ultrafine™ is also an essential instrument in the daily medical practice because of its powerful and precise cut, coagulation and tissue vaporization capacity. Its versatility makes this CO2 laser very helpful in a wide range of vascular injuries, thanks to its precise and fully controlled thermal effect.

Dermalase™

INTERmedic’s Dermalase™ system works with laser technology 1064nm, a wavelength with a high penetration power into the dermis. Dermalase™ is widely accepted for its effectiveness, long-term results and its ability to perform many percutaneous procedures, fast and comfortable system.

 Wide range of applications

This powerful laser equipment has many applications that meet current demand in the practice of dermatologists and aesthetic doctors:

  • Percutaneous vascular lesions (telangiectasias, ruby points, venous lake)
  • Intralesional vascular lesions (tuberous angiomas, collateral veins)
  • Injuries and Dermatological Surgery (fibroma, mollusk, seborrheic keratoses)
  • Laser-assisted liposuction
  • Hyperhidrosis
  • Non-ablative skin rejuvenation
  • Onychomycosis
  • Warts, IPK, neurovvascular helomas
  • Acne
  • Removal of granulomas
